One of our favourite things to do in Antalya is visit the Friday Market. As you can probably guess, it runs every Friday in town (📍 Address: Çaybaşı, 07100 Muratpaşa/Antalya). If you pop “Friday Market” into Google Maps, it should come right up!

The variety is incredible. From olives to cheese, fresh fruit to spices, meat, and even eggs – you can easily fill your bags for the week. Plus, there are multiple stalls selling similar items so you can find what you need at great prices.

With inflation in Turkiye, even supermarket produce feels expensive, but shopping at the market makes a huge difference.

What’s it like?

We usually arrive around 9am, even though Google Maps says it starts at 11. Plenty of stalls are already open, and we love getting there early:

  • More street parking
  • Fewer crowds
  • Easier to walk through with a toddler

Afternoons tend to be much busier and louder – not ideal when wrangling a little one!

Tips for Shopping at the Friday Market

  • Bring small notes. Some stalls struggle to give change for large bills.
  • Don’t worry if your weight is a little over. Vendors often round up (e.g. chuck in an extra pepper to make up 500g).
  • Prices vary slightly between stalls. Don’t stress – it usually balances out.
  • Stick to produce, cheese, nuts, and spices. Pantry staples can be picked up at nearby supermarkets afterward.
  • There’s a great little park nearby. Perfect for burning off toddler energy before the drive home!

Why We Love the Friday Market

We’ve been to a few markets in Turkiye – Alanya’s is okay but more expensive, and the one in Istanbul was chaotic (not toddler-friendly). But the Friday Market in Antalya is a win every time.

It’s fresh, affordable, local, and just feels like a mini adventure every Friday.

If you’re in Antalya on a Friday, don’t miss this market. Do your shopping, let the kids play at the park, and enjoy a super affordable way to experience local life.

Antalya Friday Market – 11/10. We’ll keep going back.

Til next time,
